Salix Scheme

At Inscope we are always encouraging the use of environmentally friendly, sustainable construction materials, along with the use of energy efficient systems. One way in which we have been achieving this recently is through the government-backed Salix scheme. The scheme was initially set up to offer finance and funding options to help improve energy efficiency of schools and some commercial properties. The scheme works by providing finance options with a vastly reduced initial outlay for such projects. The subsidised balance is then paid back through the savings on future energy bills, all of which is calculated prior to applying for the finance to ensure that the finance repayments are achievable.

One of our recent projects involved a complete overhaul of poor, inefficient light fittings throughout one of our schools. The result for the school was a brighter workplace and learning environment, with a professionally designed lighting layout to suit each space, along with vastly reduced energy bills. The payback period to Salix is easily manageable for the school and, due to the low upfront cost, money has been set aside to make further improvements to their facilities.

The scheme also provides funding for any other work that will improve energy efficiency, such as roofing upgrades to improve thermal efficiency, or central heating improvements which replace out-dated and inefficient boilers.

If you would like any further help or advice regarding the Salix scheme, then please feel free to give us a call. Our team possesses extensive experience in applying and managing the funding on behalf of our clients.
